J. Peter Ricker, 62, passed away at home in the presence of his family on March 1, 2009. Pete was born June 15, 1946, in Brookline, Massachusetts, to John Albert and Adelaide Louise Hall Ricker. He grew up in the Boston area and served in the US Navy for 4 years on the USS Saratoga. Pete worked as a Police Officer and retired after 31 years of service. He was a man with many talents and interests...he wore many hats! He enjoyed creating stained glass, wood working and photography, leaving his ""artwork"" behind for many to enjoy. He would often travel to his family home in Maine, continually remodeling the 1913 home his grandfather had built. Alongside his wife Jill, and son Mark, Pete built a barn, remodeled the house, and was the Ranch manager taking care of the three horses, three dogs and a whole mess of cats. He liked spending time in the garage with his sons, Mark and Craig, where they built and restored cars together, including several VW Bugs, a '55 Chevy, a '56 Chevy and a '73 Charger. Pete also loved to travel. He enjoyed many trips to Mexico and Central America, and also had traveled to Ireland and all over the United States and Canada. Besides his many other interests, Pete really enjoyed snorkeling, fishing and boating. Pete is loved by many and will be missed! He is survived by his wife, Jill E. Ricker, Parker, CO; sons, Craig Ricker (wife, Zerina) and Mark Ricker (wife, Cherie); former wife, Barbara Ricker; granddaughters, Sedina, Brandy and Taylor; and a sister, Patty Ricker.
