Jack R. Hathaway

Jack Hathaway 95, passed away Nov. 9, 2006 in Littleton, Colorado. Jack was born October 1, 1911 in Georgetown, Colorado and never outgrew his love of the mountains. A Colorado native, Jack only left the state with the Navy in 1943. Bernice Hathaway, his beloved wife of 56 years, and Grandson Travis Glover preceded Jack in death. Survived by children Carol and (Glenn) Colson, Mike and (Barbara) Hathaway, Jack Hathaway, (Bob) and Jeanne Glover; Grandchildren Gregg and Robin Colson, Lorie and Bobby Reid, Craig and Cindy Hathaway, Jerry Hathaway, Deron Glover, Devon and Tammy Glover, and 11 great grandchildren. Two brothers, Harold and Joe Hathaway and one sister, Darlene Harms, also survive him. Jack was a member of the VFW and the Elks club. He enjoyed bowling until age 92. He loved to garden. He was the heart of his family and enjoyed every moment he had with them. He was quite the storyteller and laughed at his own jokes. Jack was a season ticket holder for the Broncos for many years. The last years of his life he was a steadfast armchair Bronco's quarterback. His love of the mountains included fishing, camping and enjoying his surroundings. He had many adventures in life most recently at age 93 he went hot air ballooning with his family. At age 90, he went jet skiing and also took the cog railway up to Pikes Peak. Jack worked for 45 years as a manger for Harris Auto and Truck Parts. He enjoyed his job and working with people. He maintained a desire to work and help others his entire life.
