Jack Wayne Hilyard was the last child of six, born to Amelia and Clarence Hilyard on August 20, 1924, in Allen County Ohio. He moved frequently with his family throughout Ohio and Michigan, because his father worked in the oil fields. He considered Michigan home. During WWII Jack worked at the Willy's Overland Jeep Factory in Toledo Ohio, making Corsair Airplanes for the war. He worked a season on a Bethlehem Steel Great Lake Freighter. He followed the Horse Race circuit to race courses across the Southwest part of the Country. He settled in Denver Colorado in 1948. He met his future wife Evelyn LaChapelle soon after arriving in Denver and persuaded her to marry him in July 1957. Jack worked at many professions during his lifetime. His favorites being : Continental Oil Company where he mapped trips across the country for travelers. Sealtest Dairies, Robbins Incubators, and Shroeder and Company Realty. He retired at age 65 from Denver Metro Sewage District where he worked in the Warehouse. He liked fishing and camping, but his true hobby was the stock market. His life's goal was to provide for his children and their children. He and Evelyn were very compassionate and found joy in helping others. He never denied a fried or a stranger. Jack was proceeded in death by his mother and father, Sisters Katherine, Helen and Ruth, Brothers Gail an d Robert, Wife Evelyn and Son in Law Brady Camden. He leaves behind, Daughters Nancy Camden, Susan Erickson (Bill). Grand Children Jacob Camden (Melissa), Amber Polley (Derek), Brian Mann and Michael Mann, and Great Grandchildren, Hailey Camden, Brenna Polley, Gaige Camden and Makayla Mann, and the many others that called him DAD. Jack left this world peacefully at his home on January 26, 2017. Services will be held on Monday February 6, 2017 at 11:00 AM, at Mountain View Community Reformed Church of America. 3939 W Florida Avenue, Denver Co 80219.
