Jack E. Jones

1963 was a great year in Denver, Colorado, because Jack was born to the Jones family. The mischievous little red-head brought joy, love and challenge into his family. At age 12, he was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. Although he didn't understand why, he chose to go forward with a positive attitude rather than waste energy asking ""why"". He graduated from Pomona High School in 1981 and went onto Regis College. During his college years he was a job coach; Interviewer for a research company; Chemical Dependency Intern at Porter Memorial Hospital; Facilitator for a training institute; Junior Counselor at Highlands Cemetery; Victim Advocate Intern for the Denver District Attorney's Office; Specialist at a child enrichment center, Salesperson at the Center of Hope bookstore; and a successful fundraiser in his church. He graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Psychology from Regis. At that time, his real calling became clear. Although physically he endured many challenges, Jack spent his days working to improve the lives of others. Each encounter changed as acquaintance into a dear friend – except in the case of Arthur – arthritis, that is. His passion to help others led him to focus his attention on raising money for research and education for joint health. His latest accomplishment was a very successful fund-raising event in the local Walk for Joint Health. Even though Jack could not actively participate in sports, he was an avid fan. He enjoyed telling the Broncos' coach what to do (the coach never listened though) and constantly sought the Broncos cheerleader's autographs. In fact, several of them knew him by name!! Jack is survived by his parents, Connie and Jim; his sister and brother in-law, Deborah and Seyed Emadian; nieces Emily and Diana; nephew Elliott; Aunt Jackie Palmer; cousins Cindy, Jennifer and Scott plus their families; and two precious Godchildren, Lauren and Jenna. A Memorial Service for Jack will be held Thursday, November 6, 2008, at 2:00PM, Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 9998 Grant Street, Thornton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in honor of Jack to Panorama Walk for Joint Health, c/o PREF, 660 Golden Ridge Road, Golden, CO 80401-9522.
