Jack Oliver Roberts, 86, died in Aurora, Colorado on December 11, 2019. He was born on February 25, 1933 in Abilene, Texas to the late Marion Lee and Minnie Alice (Ball) Roberts.
Jack served in the US Army as a field artilleryman during the Korean War. After his time in the military, he became a teacher. He dedicated most of his life to the Department of Defense Dependent School System where he taught hundreds of children at Sollars Elementary School on Misawa Air Force Base, Japan.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Emiko and his sisters Jane Knox and Jo Ann Beazley.
Jack was a proud father and grandfather to daughter Judy (Anthony) Davis and their children Miriam, Rebecca, Lucas and Isaac Colligan and son Steven (Prudy) Roberts and their children Jack and Kierstin. Jack will be fondly remembered by extended family in the United States and in Japan and by the many friends he made over the years as a teacher.
Jack was a person who loved his family and friends very much. He had a big life and enjoyed every minute of it. He was proud of his family to the very end. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jack can be made to: St Jude's Children's Research Hospital https://www.stjude.org.
