Jack Frederick Scherrer Jr.

Jack Scherrer Jr., 72 of Aurora, CO passed away and joined the Lord on Friday, March 23. Jack is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jane Krell, their children Jack Scherrer, Joan Stitt, Jill Dressler, Jay Scherrer, 5 grandchildren, his brother Jim Scherrer, and sister Sue Mills. Born in Newport, Kentucky on October 23, 1945, Jack graduated from Villa Madonna College in Covington, Kentucky in 1966, and went on to earn a Masters degree in Physics from the University of Dayton. He loved his work and enjoyed a long career in the defense and aerospace technology. He was respected by his peers for his leadership, work ethic, and personal attention to team members. Jack tallied well over 1 million flight miles during his career. Jack loved his wife and family dearly, and selflessly devoted himself to their needs throughout his life. He settled in Aurora, Colorado with his wife, after living together in Ohio, California, and Virginia. Jack loves seeing the mountains of the front range, and being outdoors on the golf course or watching his children and grandchildren play sports. He encouraged his children to pursue their dreams, and was always eager to express his pride in their achievements. In honor of Jack, a Memorial Mass will be held 2:00PM, Friday April 13, 2018 at Horan & McConaty Funeal Home (5303 E. County Line Rd, Centennial, CO 80122).
