Jack E. Welham

Jack E. Welham passed away on June 21, 2017, at the age of 86. Jack was born on February 25, 1931 in Milliken, Colorado to Stanley and Eleanor Welham. Jack was raised on a farm that harvested Sugar Beets. He married Vera Dodge on June 6, 1952. He served in the US Army Military. While in the US Army, the current President of the USA at that time was the 34th President of the United States Dwight D. Eisenhower. Jack had the honor of cooking a meal for the President. While being in the military his nickname was ""Cookie"". Jack was an extremely excellent cook, and enjoyed cooking for all his family and friends. Everyone learned a lot of recipes and how to prepare meals. Jack and Vera had 4 handsome Boys: Elton, Rod, Ferron and Corvin. From there the family has grown and branched out to have 43 descendants, and counting. Jack worked at Safeway as a baker; He was a mechanic in the race car pits in Erie, Colorado. He owned a Sinclair gas station, He built Mr. Steak Restaurants, and he owned his own business, Welko Pipeline. Jack worked at a couple construction companies, worked at Fountain of Health in Brighton Colorado and worked at Las Quintas RV Park in Yuma, Arizona. Above all of his accomplishments, the most valued and the greatest of all, Jack was the most loving and caring Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and truly the Best friend anyone could wish or ask for. Jack leaves with us an amazing Legacy. Jack will truly be missed and will always be in hearts. We love you dearly. You are the best and now may rest in peace. He is survived by sons, Elton Welham (Nancy) of Huntington Beach, CA. Rod Welham (Jeanne) of Frederick CO; Corvin Welham (Denise) of Denver CO; Brother, Glenn Welham of Longmont CO; Sister, Joyln Welham of Greeley CO; Sister, Joyce Middleton of Greeley CO; Sister, Norma Jean Mayes of Greeley CO; 8 Grandchildren, and 25 Great grandchildren He was preceded in death by Wife, Vera Welham on May 25, 2005; and Son Ferron Welham, on November 3, 1981; Father, Stanley Welham; Mother, Eleanor Welham; Sister, Ellen Carlson-Jaksoniak; and Brother, Stanley Welham. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 28, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 9998 Grant Street, Thornton, Colorado. A Graveside Service will follow the visitation at 2:00pm at the Johnstown Cemetery in Johnstown, Colorado.
