Jacob is survived by his husband and longtime companion, Marvin L. Fisher. Jacob and Marvin began dating in 1983, moving in together in 1985, continuing to Denver in 1993, and marrying on April 1, 2016. They considered their anniversary date as 1985.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob Brong, Sr (1989) and Anna Helen (1992); followed by his brother, William Earl Trumbower in 2011.
Surviving siblings are: Judy (Mike) Fontana of Pickens, South Carolina; Sue (Carmen) Fincher of Pickens, South Carolina; Deb (Jim) VanWie of Pickens, South Carolina; Roberta Grant (Roger) of Six Mile, South Carolina; and Eric (Theresa) Trumbower of Six Mile, South Carolina.
He has numerous nieces and nephews in South Carolina, New York, and Hawaii, many with children of their own. Jacob grew up in Clay, New York and is still friends with people in the area, including the Allen Family.
Jacob began his career in Information Technology at Singer Company in Pickens, South Carolina and followed by Piedmont Shirt Company in Greenville, South Carolina. He continued his career joining with Lockheed Corporation in Greenville South Carolina, was transferred with Lockheed Martin to Denver, Colorado in 1993, as Lead Production Control Analyst where he had numerous friends for many years, choosing early retirement in October 2014. He also created and co-owned Earls Sandwich Parlor on Ogden Street in Denver; 2003-2014.
Jacob was an animal lover and spent several years in South Carolina raising and breeding Springer Spaniels. There will be many loved pets greeting him at the Rainbow Bridge. He collected many items over the years that he treasured. Jacob enjoyed renovating real estate properties and always had a project to which he looked forward every day. He loved and kept many of these treasured homes, filling them with people that often became his chosen family. Jacob believed in the phrase “Love Thy Neighbor” and always wanted to meet and get to know all his neighbors. He was a thoughtful, caring brother and uncle, a friend to everyone he ever met. In the last few years he developed a love for Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, visiting often, and again made many good friends. Jacob was loved and will be missed by many.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to his favorite gardens where he often enjoyed visits and walks, The Denver Botanic Gardens.

In addition to the Celebration of Life at the Botanic Gardens, there will be another Celebration of life that will held on May 1st, 2022, 12Noon -3pm, at Haygood Mill in Pickens, South Carolina.
