Aurora

James Michael Alexander 78, of Aurora, Colorado, died quietly on Sunday morning, January 30th in Denver, Colorado. He was born the second oldest of 5 in El Paso, Texas on October 2, 1943 to parents Tom and Dixie Alexander.

Mike graduated in El Paso, from Austin High School in 1961.  He then graduated from Texas Western University, now named University of Texas at El Paso, in 1965, earning his Bachelors degree in business.

After one year in the UT Austin Law School, Mike served in the United States Marine Corps from 1966-1969, achieving the rank of 1st Lieutenant during his 13 months in Khe Sahn, Viet Nam.

Following his time in the Marine Corps, he married Patricia Brown and they had their daughter, Tiffay.  Mike went on to attend the University of North Texas where he earned his Masters of Business (MBA) in 1972.  After living in Houston, TX for many years and working in real estate, he moved to DC, and then Albuquerque, NM where he and Carol met and married.  They then moved do Denver, CO three years ago.

In August of 2014, Mike was injured in a tragic accident after he fell from a ladder and was almost completely paralyzed. This was less than a year after Mike and Carol were married in November of 2013. Their time together was the happiest time of his life despite the hardships both endured after his accident. Mike will be remembered by his family for his intelligence, conviction, his love of animals and hiking, as well as his sense of endurance in rough times.  He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife and best friend Carol, his brothers Tom, Keith, and Bill, his sister Beverly and his daughter Tiffany.
