James âJakeâ Arnolds, passed away on September 2, 2017, after a courageous battle against cancer. Jake is survived by his beloved wife, Lindsay Kenison Arnolds, who saw through the goofy lighthearted partier to the truly gentle and caring soul he was; his two sisters Lisa and Katie Arnolds, who like to be-lieve they helped shape him into that caring soul and are deeply grateful to him for teaching them to pursue fun and adventure; and his parents Dave Arnolds and Eileen McCarthy-Arnolds, who always balanced their worries about him splitting his head or breaking his neck on one of his adventures with their pride in having a uniquely kind and intelligent son. Most importantly he is survived by his son Eamon, who is an impish, cherub-like child, shockingly like his dad both in his propensity to leap off things and his joyful and loving demeanor. Jake traveled the world and made friends everywhere he went. During his travels Jake became fluent in both Spanish and Portuguese, which served him well in his job as an investigator for the Denver Public Defenders. In addition to double majoring at the University of Montana, Jake completed a masterâs degree in International Development at the Joseph Korbel School at the University of Denver and worked for the Biennial of the Americas. Jakeâs life was rich in experiences, adventures and love. Although he left us far too soon, we believe that snowboarding and travel are now better for him in the Great Beyond where he can continue his adventures cancer-free. He will continue to be loved and cherished by all of us who were lucky enough to know this kind, fun loving man. He will be remembered at a memorial service at his parentsâ home in Park Hill 2:00 pm on September 30, 2017. For more information, please contact Horan & McConaty at (303) 757-1238. Donations in Jakeâs memory may be made to the Dear Jack Foundation, which assists youth and young adults with cancer, and to El Porvenir, which works with rural communities in Nicaragua on clean water and sanitation project. In addition, there will be a 529 college account set up for Eamon Arnolds. If you are interested in receiving information to donate to this fund please contact Debbie Heidish at dheidish@comcast.net.
