Capt. James Beerer passed away on February 16, 2025. Born and raised in Southern California, he was the rare person who knew what he wanted to be when he grew up from a young age and steadily pursued that passion. He began flying light planes as a teenager and continued this through his time at the University of Colorado in Boulder. He had a long career as an airline pilot with both Continental and USAirways.
Jim married his beloved wife, Susan, in 1967. They raised their family in Evergreen and retired to the Littleton area. He appreciated the serenity of nature and an open vista. He enjoyed travel, golf, skiing, and any old AM radio station playing hits of yesteryear while watching sunsets on a beach. We wish him an able body to be active in the afterlife, and we will remember him as a caring, principled, even-tempered man with a witty sense of humor. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Susan, his daughter Natalie McCullough (Kevin), son Andrew (Gage), son Brett (Emily), seven adored grandchildren, brother Joe, sister Mary, and numerous nieces and nephews.
