James Brown

James Robert Alden Brown, 63, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, passed away on December 4, 2023. He was born March 12, 1960, to Shirley Brown and the late Robert Brown. He grew up in Centerville, Ohio with his parents and late sister Barbara Brown. James, or Jim as he was affectionately known, was a devoted husband to Christine (Wyman) Brown and a loving father to his daughter Kathryn “Katie” Brown and son Spencer Brown.

Jim led a life marked by dedication and service. He served in the United States Air Force from 1978 to 2000, achieving the rank of Air Force Senior Master Sergeant in Aerospace Ground Equipment. During his military tenure, he bravely served in Saudi Arabia during the Gulf Storm War, as well as in Minot AFB, North Dakota; Robins AFB, Georgia; Ramstein AFB,Germany; Lakenheath AFB, England; and then Hill AFB, Utah. During his service, he attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Jim’s commitment and unwavering loyalty to his country were commendable.

Following his honorable discharge, Jim pursued a career path that showcased his diverse skills and expertise. He worked diligently for Simmons Mattress,  Rockwell Automation, and eventually at RTD. Jim’s dedication and strong work ethic were evident throughout his professional life.

When not focused on his career or military duties, Jim found solace in nature. He enjoyed the simple pleasure of camping, the tranquility of scuba diving, and the art of barbecuing and smoking meat. These hobbies allowed him to connect with his loved ones and create cherished memories.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, January 12, at 11:00 AM, at the esteemed Horan & McConaty in Centennial, Colorado. Following the service, Jim will be laid to rest at Fort Logan National Cemetery with Military honors at 2:30 PM. The ceremony will pay tribute to his service and the impact he made during his lifetime.

The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Care & Compassion Fund at St. Andrews Methodist Church.

The passing of James Robert Alden Brown leaves a void in the lives of his family, friends, and all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. His memory will forever be cherished, and his legacy of dedication, loyalty, and love will continue to inspire and guide us.

The Brown family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Horan & McConaty in Centennial, Colorado, for their professional and caring assistance during this difficult time.
