James 'Jim' Maxwell BURGER, 89, was born on August 16, 1922 and passed away peacefully on May 9, 2012, just shy of his 90th birthday. Jim was the loving father of son Rodney (Sue) Burger and granddaughters Nicole and Madison of Sydney, Australia; daughter Molly (Larry) Burnett and grandchildren Taylor, Tatum and Bridger of Broomfield, Colorado; and son Robert 'Bobby' (Holly) Burger and grandsons Nick and Beck of Longmont, Colorado. Also happy for having shared Jim's life is his long time loving companion, Judy Wagner. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, becoming an airplane pilot and then flying fighter planes off carriers. Jim graduated from the University of Colorado law school in 1947 and was licensed to practice law shortly thereafter. He was a Beta Theta Pi and thoroughly enjoyed watching the CU Buffaloes football games. He will be remembered for his love of fly fishing and doing all things outdoors. He was a lifelong member of the Boulder Country Club and golfing was one of his true passions. At Jim's request, no services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1280 South Parker Road, Denver, Colorado 80231; or to the Rocky Mountain Arthritis Foundation, 2280 South Albion Street, Denver, Colorado 80222. Please share your memories of Jim and condolences with his family by signing the guestbook.
