James A. Callaway

James Callaway, 89, of Arvada passed away peacefully February, 16, 2011. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Josephine Callaway. He is survived by his three sons James Jr. (Joan), Jerry (Jane) and John (Patty); ten grandchildren Jim Callaway III, Jeffery Callaway, Julie Geddis, Jamie Teti, Jon Callaway, Jacob Callaway, Michael Callaway, Christopher Callaway, Peter Callaway and Daniel Callaway, twelve great grandchildren, Adeline Callaway, James A. Callaway IV, Lydia Callaway, Ashli Callaway, Amber Callaway, John Teti, Sabrina Teti, Nikolas Salazar, Witney Geddis, Jordan Callaway and Madison Callaway. Also survived by a sister Patricia Dixon (Jim) and a brother Ed Callaway (Elaine). Born in Nebraska and grew up in North Denver and having graduated from North High School, Jim enlisted in the Navy when WWII broke out, serving for six years in the Submarine Service. Jim retired from the Union Pacific Railroad after a 45 year career. He was active with the Transportation Club, the Denver Elks and worked at Indian Tree Golf Course for 19 years. Jim was a devoted husband, father and friend to all he met. Jerry SEMPER FI 67-71 Visitation will be Monday, February 21, 2011, 5PM – 7PM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3020 Federal Blvd. The Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, February 22, 2011, 10AM at Spirit of Christ Catholic Church, 7400 West 80th. Avenue in Arvada. Interment will be in Fort Logan National Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the BPOE Lodge #17 Building Fund, 2475 West 26th. Avenue, Denver, CO 80211.
