James Wagner Cooksey

James Cooksey, age 90, passed away on June 3, 2018 in Aurora, Colorado. He was born on December 3, 1927 in Columbus, Ohio, to Ruth and Carlos Cooksey. James served in the United States Air Force for 22 years, the U.S. Army for 3 years, and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol for 70 years. He also was an educator in the Aurora schools system for 22 years. James was a passionate, caring and dedicated man. James is survived by his children, Jay W. Cooksey, Bruce E. Cooksey, Ray W. Cooksey, Roxanna Hart and Scott Goodley. James was preceded in death by his late wife, Rosalyn Cooksey. A memorial service will be held in his honor at the Wings Over The Rockies Museum on Wednesday June 14, 2018 from 2-5 pm and his cremated remains will be interned at Ft. Logan National Cemetery. En lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made, on behalf of James, to the Alzheimer's Association, or the Civil Air Patrol, Colorado Wing.
