James Copley

Dedicated Husband, father of four and Sergeant for the Colorado State Patrol, James William Copley (Jim, Jimmy, Sarge) passed away on October 27, 2022, in his home in Littleton Colorado, surrounded by his family and friends. Jim had been fighting CVID for nearly 8 years and was 46 years old at the time of his passing.
Jim was born to William and Wanda Copley on March 8, 1976, in Denver, Colorado. He grew up in Lakewood, Colorado and Salt Lake City, Utah. Jim graduated from Holy Family High School and Regis University. On December 2, 2000, Jim married Carrie (Scoles) Copley. They resided in Lakewood, Colorado where they raised their four children. Jim was a beloved coach of several teams throughout the years and a mentor to many. Jim served with the Colorado State Patrol for 24 years and worked in various specialties throughout his career. He began his career as a Trooper in Adams County, Colorado and was currently serving as a Sergeant at the State Capitol with the Executive Security Branch.
Jim is survived by his wife Carrie; four children Michael, Shelby, Tyler and Randi; parents and siblings; sisters Carrie (Neil) Gardner, Theresa Crites, Sherry Nordberg, Julie Copley;  brother Mike Copley; and his many nieces and nephews.

Everyone is welcome to attend all services.
Private interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery at a later date.
