James Edward Crump

James Edward Crump On the morning of April 8th, 2016, Jim passed away peacefully after an aggressive form of cancer at Porter Hospice in Centennial, CO. Jim was surrounded by his wife Teresa Crump, daughter Monica Crump, son Mark Crump, grandson Zachary Crump-Hulett, along with other close family and friends. Jim was 69 years old. Jim Crump was born in Pueblo, CO on February 16th, 1947. He was the youngest of five children, born in the home of Harry M. Crump and Evelyn Hearn. Early in his life, Jim graduated from Pueblo Central High School in 1965. Jim married the love of his life, his best friend, Teresa C. Hines on June 24th, 1967 both only being the age of 20. Having attended Southern Colorado State College from 1965-1968 Jim graduating with an associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technologies. In 1969, Jim and Terry had their first child at the age of 22, a baby girl who they named Monica Lynn Crump. Three years later, 1972 Jim and Terry had a second child, this time a little baby boy whom they named Mark Allen Crump. One year later Jim had tested and was successfully licensed as a Professional Land Surveyor, which in turn gave him exceptional opportunities to further his career and the lives of his family. Jim was one of the first employees to work on a new and exciting project located on the southern most region of Denver in 1979. This project is now known as Highlands Ranch Colorado. While working as a land surveyor he was offered a position as a water and sanitation inspector for the Centennial Water and Sanitation district. Few years later Jim took a position that placed him in an important position approving plans and writing specifications for new commercial businesses moving into Highlands Ranch. For 26 years, Jim had seen the ""ranch"" go from hill covered grass lands and cattle grazing fields to a metropolis booming with people from all over the state and country. Jim was beyond anything else a family man. He spent tireless hours trying his very best to take care of his family in the best way he can. He took pride in providing a good safe home and splurged on vacations to multiple destinations around the county. Jim was the proud grand father of three grandsons. Zachary, Aiden , and Broderick. He was proud of his grandsons and loved spending time with them. Jim spent his retirement years working on woodworking projects and home improvement projects for his home, spending time with his Wife and trying to live his life the best that he can. Jim was proceeded in death by his father Harry, mother Evelyn, brothers Harry Jr, Ernest, and sister Marie. Survived by his Wife Teresa (Terry), daughter Monica, and son Mark.
