James Douglas Anderson

James Douglas Anderson, also known as Doug, passed away surrounded by loved ones at his home in Westminster, Colorado on January 5, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on October 4, 1942, in Woodbine, Iowa, James was a beloved family man and friend. 

Doug had a delightful sense of humor that brought joy to those around him. He was known for his unwavering loyalty and his dedication to his loved ones. Doug had a deep passion for sports, particularly college football, and his favorite team, Notre Dame. His love for music was eclectic, ranging from AC/DC to Waylon Jennings, Bo Diddley to Johann Strauss, Jr. He also enjoyed indulging in great movies and TV shows, as well as spending quality time with his grandkids. They were his best friends, and he cherished every moment he spent with them. 

In his professional life, James served in law enforcement, making a significant impact during his time at the Colorado State Patrol and Department of Revenue.  

Doug leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory. He is survived by his sons, Steve and Ryan Anderson, and daughters-in-law, Carrie and Carol; his daughter, Shannon, and son-in-law, Jamie Breitzman. James adored his eight grandchildren, Brevin, Keegan, Breanna, Noah, Hayden, Cooper, Tucker, and Cole Wilder. He is also survived by his brother, Bob Anderson, sister, Mary Thompson, and nieces and a nephew. James was preceded in death by his mother, Ann, father, Ralph, and nephew, Keith Anderson.
