James R. Garcia 77, passed away on May 7, 2015. James R. Garcia was born in Rocky Ford, Colorado. Class of '55 Rocky Ford High School. Served 4 years in the United States Marine Corps. Manager of Purchasing and Subcontracts for Bechtel Corp, Fluor Corp, Rockwell International, The Boeing Co. and Ball Aero Space. Jim started & owned an Art Gallery in Kennewick, Washington, known as Garcia's Americana Art Gallery where he sold and studied the Art of Edward S. Curtis, Carl Moon and Western Art in General. James lectured at Galleries & Museums and also testified in court on various Art Collections. James R. Garcia was a Collector, Connoisseur and Researcher of Fine Art and Author of ""The Authentication of Rembrandt's Titus F 1655"" and ""Rembrandt's Self Portrait."" He is survived by Cathy Lynn Garcia-Bryan, Flora Vista, NM; James R. Garcia, II â Buffalo, NY; John Gary Garcia, Colorado Springs, CO. 10 Grandchildren and 8 Great-Grandchildren; surviving siblings Rosalia Lopez, Eugene, OR; Evelyn Martinez, Pueblo, CO; Bennie Garcia, Arvada, CO; Eugene Garcia, Rocky Ford, CO and MaryEllen Garcia, Aurora, CO. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bennie R. Garcia and Evangeline M. Garcia; brothers Walter and Edward Garcia. A public viewing will be held Sunday, May 17, from 6 - 7 p.m. with the Recitation of the Rosary to follow at 7 p.m. both at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 East Dartmouth Avenue in Aurora. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 18, at 10:00 a.m. at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 13120 East Kentucky Avenue in Aurora with a receptionto follow. The Graveside Service will begin at 1:15 p.m. at Fort Logan Natioanl Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, in Denver.
