James Walter ""Jim"" Hahn

April 18, 1926 — December 2, 2012

James W. ""Jim"" Hahn of Denver, Colorado, died peacefully after a long battle with lung cancer in his home on Sunday, December 2nd, 2012. Jim was born in Seward (Stafford County Township/St. John) Kansas on April 18, 1926. Jim is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marie Alice (Heer), his brothers Phillip Eugene ""Phil"" Hahn, Stanley Kent Hahn and John Douglas 'Doug' Hahn and his sister Ruth Ann Johnson. He was preceded in death by his father Leslie Hahn and mother Helene Gould Tucker, his brothers Robert Leslie Hahn, Ray 'Leonard' Hahn and sisters Sybil Arlene Thomason and Wanda Mae McGee, as well as his children Anita Louise, James Walter, Jr., Michael Allen and daughter in law Gail Hahn (Les). He is survived by his children Gerald Leon Hahn (Jelene), Judy Barbara Halbrook, James Michael Hahn, Sandra Kathleen Ubowski (Chet), Les Christian Hahn, Elaine Marie Garritson (Rick) and Rebecca Rose Blevans (Mark). Jim's legacy includes his grandchildren Thomas William Halbrook, Gerald Alan Halbrook, Tasha Dawn McCarthy, Michelle Lyn Hahn, James Christian Hahn, Eric Michael Hahn, Adam Scott Ubowski, Jamie Lyn Hahn, Stefania Marie Elsmore (UbowskI), Aaron Tyler Oakes, Nathan John Ubowski, Joseph Ryan Blevans, Katie Lyn Hahn, Jessica Ann-Marie Hahn, Whitney Rachelle Hahn, Samantha Kay Ubowski, Mariah Rose Blevans, Alexandra Elaine (Garritson) Carpenella, Nyisha Marie Ubowski, Suede Michael Hahn, Blaine Tyler Hahn, Jeremy George Hahn and Travis James Hahn. Jim was proud of his service as a Radioman 2nd Class aboard the USS Woodworth (DD460) during World War II in the Pacific theater. He retired after 31 years as a Mail Carrier with the U.S. Postal Service in 1981. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at 6 PM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood, with a reception to follow. Interment will take place on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at 10 AM at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver.
