James Hoyt Kemmerley

September 3, 1954 — May 4, 2011

James Hoyt Kemmerley was born September 3, 1954, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Robilee Parfitt Kemmerley and James Ross Kemmerley. Hoyt was a loving father to his daughter Jordyn Nicole Kemmerley and a loving friend to his former spouse Erica Kemmerley Stinebower. Hoyt is also survived by his brother Douglas Ross Kemmerley, Doug's wife Linda Kemmerley and their daughter Sage Kemmerley. Hoyt had a business and finance degree from the University of Colorado - Boulder, and was an avid Buffs, New York Yankees and Giants fan. Hoyt was an avid hiker, mountaineer and skier and could be spotted on the side of a mountain, trail or 4 wheel drive road anytime of the year. To Hoyt, the more obscure the road, trail, or pass, the better. His favorite season was 'the changing of the leaves' and he would spend hours viewing and photographing trees all over Colorado, but especially in the Southwest part of the state. He had a special place in his heart for Durango, Crested Butte and Telluride. Hoyt had a soft spot for animals and was an active PETA member. He had a very special innocent love for animals and his daughter Jordyn. Hoyt was a very patient teacher and loved to tutor and challenge children with homework, and to teach others to ski and hike. Math was one of Hoyt's very favorite subjects and he spent hours doing math problems with his daughter from a very young age. Hoyt, the loving father, brother, son, uncle and friend will be dearly missed. The memorial service will be held on Thursday May 12, 2011 at 3:30 pm at Rockland Community Church. The address is 17 South Mt. Vernon Country Club Road, Golden, CO 80401. James Kemmerley, 56, passed away May 4, 2011.
