James Kemper Meyer, 84, passed away early Monday July 11th after a short illness. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 57 years JoAnn, two sons Kemper and Jerry (Wylene); granddaughters Sara and Lilly Meyer; numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was born in St. Charles MO on November 8th 1931 to Milton E. and Jessie Hurley Meyer. Jim's family also included brothers Milton E. Jr., Harold H. and sister Jane Ruwart; all deceased. His love for music and involvement with the St. Louis Municipal Opera gave him the opportunity to entertain troops overseas with the Special Services during the Korean War. Additional singing involvement included many church choirs, choir directing, Opera Colorado and five years with the Colorado Symphony Chorus. Jim owned his own insurance agency and was actively involved in the Denver Rotary. Jim was also on the board of directors for the Professional Insurance Agents. Jim loved golf, local sports teams, entertainment, family gatherings, and travel. Everyone loved his sense of humor an he will surely be missed. Funeral services for Jim will be held at Church of the Risen Christ, 3060 S. Monaco Pkwy, Denver, Thursday, July 14th at 10 am. Reception to follow at the church.
