On Thursday, March 21, 2024 James Morrisette passed away after a long life as a role model of generosity, faith and love at the age of 92. Jim was born on July 1, 1931 in Portsmouth, VA to James and Clara Morrisette. On August 7, 1953 he married Patricia Stapp. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Jim attended Purdue University after his naval service, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering in 1959. They raised three children, Michael, David and Ann. Jim loved outdoor adventure, travel, national parks and his work as a civil engineer with the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. But mostly he enjoyed spending time with his family. Jim was preceded in death by his wife Pat, his father James and his mother Clara and his brother Edward (Ned). He is survived by his children, Mike and wife Robyn, Dave, Annie and husband Rik, his sisters Linda Staples and Ellen Lee, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Celebration Of Life will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home, 3101 S. Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood, CO 80227, at 11:00 in the Morning. Reception will follow. Donations in Jim's honor may be sent to the Collier Hospice Center at Lutheran Hospital. He will be dearly missed.
