James Paul O'Connor of Littleton, a retired Air Force Medical Service Corps officer, passed away on August 10, 2009. He was 81 years old. Visitation will be Thursday, August 13, 2009 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a Rosary following at Horan & McConaty, 5303 East County Line Road in Centennial, Colorado. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 14, 2009, at 10:30 AM at Light of the World Catholic Church, 10316 W. Bowles Ave., Littleton, Colorado. Private inurnment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Jim was born April 7, 1928, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Saint Bonaventure University in New York with a degree in microbiology. On November 24, 1952, he married Arlene M. Surprenant in Manhattan, Kansas. After leaving the Air Force, Jim served on the administrative staffs of University Hospital and Westminster Dental Associates. He also served as President of the Board at the Dominican Sisters Home Health Agency. Jim is survived by his wife and five children, Maureen, New York; Kathleen, Kelleen, Kerreen and Michael, all of Colorado. He is also survived by three brothers, eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
