James Howard Reed, Jr. of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, died on Saturday, November third after a courageous battle with cancer. Jim was born on March 1, 1946 in Saint Louis, Missouri and graduated from Gainesville High School, Gainesville, Missouri in 1964. He served proudly as a Marine in the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1968 and returned to attend college and start his family. In 1974, he earned his B.A. in English from Webster College in Saint Louis. Jim was happiest when he was cheering for the Cardinals, biking, skiing and gathering birds around his many feeders. He took tremendous pride in the accomplishments of his family and could usually be found watching his grandkids participate in their numerous activities. There was not a concert, game or event that he would not attend if it meant watching his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Margo, his son, Kevin (Pam), his step-children, Jason (Traci), Julie (Eric) and his four grandchildren: Ellen, Sarah, Alexander and Grace.
