James A. Sparks
1/21/1947, Waterloo, Iowa – 4/1/2021, Aurora, Colorado
Jim Sparks never met a stranger. He loved life and was always active – never still.
Even when his diabetes resulted in amputation and prostheses, he rebounded. He had a strong will to live. Jim was a fighter.
A sports enthusiast, Jim especially loved basketball, volleyball and golf.
His love of golf led him to meet and marry Connie, his beloved wife of 30 years.
Jim and Connie became inseparable.
They enjoyed traveling, golfing, eating out and visiting with friends and family. Family members would often meet in a park on a weekend to play volleyball. And Jim became a sought-after referee of basketball, volleyball and softball.
Jim was known for his kind heart. Connie says their dog Jackson was their best friend.
Jim loved taking Jackson for walks in their Heather Gardens neighborhood, making friends along the way.
During his career, Jim was a Communications Trainer for 24 years with AT&T.
He also worked for Burt Chevrolet as manager of the salvage auction.
Jim is survived by his wife Connie; children Jeff and Tammy; stepchildren Krissy, Matt and Zach; grandchildren Darian, Bryce, Kendall and Haley; great-granddaughter Hazel; and brother Barry Sparks.
