His parents were Don and Delores Stennes and he had 3 brothers, Carl, Larry, and Mark. While in high school he played accordion in a country band. After a year and a half of college, Jim left Wolf Point for Denver. He always said he came here for the music and concerts he could attend. He started out as a meat cutter then went on to work in the restaurant business, eventually owning and operating his own diner, The Southside Cafe. Jim married the love of his life, Lisa and together they had their pride and joy, daughter Halley. After selling the restaurant at age 50, Jim went back to school to become an ophthalmic tech. He also learned to play the piano, capitalizing on his accordion skills. Some of his favorite artists are Waylon and Willie, Jackson Browne, and Emmy Lou Harris, but there are many others too numerous to count. Survived by wife Lisa; daughter Halley; brothers Carl (Donna) Stennes, Mark (Jackie) Stennes. Memorial Service Friday, August 19, 2016, 3:00 PM, Horan & McConaty, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd.
