James Richard Williams

Jim Williams, 62, of Aurora, Colorado , passed away at his home on June 20, 2009 after 6.5 years of battling cancer. He is survived by his wife of 33 + years, Carla D.(Aurora), his children, Heather (Rick) Berkbigler (Arizona), Neil Williams (Denver), his granchildren, D'Ana, Joey, Austin, Danielle and Dylan (Arizona) and Maddison (Parker), and a sister, Linda Williams (Texas). Jim was born in San Mateo, California on March 22, 1947 and grew up in Napa. After graduation from Napa Valley High School he joined the US Navy and spent the next six years on the USS Ranger as an Electronics Tech. When honorably discharged in 1972 he went to work for Napa Valley Cablevision where he began as an installer and quickly moved up to Chief Technician. Over the next 30 years he continued at various levels in the industry moving from California to Arizona to New York and settling in beautiful Colorado. Jim enjoyed various hobbies throughout his lifetime including motorcycles in his parent's backyard before he could drive. Dirt bike trips with his friends and eventually with his son. While in Arizona he and Carla joined a gun club and participated in combat shooting where they won many awards. Four wheeling and camping where a big part of his life while living in Arizona which continued when he returned to Colorado. While living in New York he learned to cross country ski and at times in very frigid conditions. I recent years Jim owned or built four street rods which he firmly believed in driving to and showing at near by car shows. And last, but not least, he and Carla rode their Harley Davidsons whenever the could. They took many vacations with close friends. Jim lived his life to the fullest always giving everything he did 110%. He was fun loving, hardworking, strong and determined.
