James "Jim" Lewis Jr.

James E. Lewis, Jr. (Jim/Jimmy), age 52, died at home, in Aurora, Colorado, on December 11, 2020.

Jim was born on February 17, 1968 in Denton, Texas to Jim Sr. and Dana. He lived in various towns in Texas during early childhood and moved to Littleton, CO at age 11. In Littleton, he attended Lois Lenski Elementary, Powell Jr. High School and graduated from Heritage High School. As an adult Jim lived in various places throughout the Denver metro area. As a young adult he worked as a waiter and bartender and various restaurants. Jim began a career in telecommunications at TCI and he continued his career at Comcast and DISH. Jim was working as a project manager for DaVita at the time of his death.

Jim enjoyed many hobbies, including hunting, fishing and golf, as well as reading and cooking. He was an avid Broncos fan and season ticket holder and never missed an opportunity to attend a game with his son Jack. He was also an avid Texas Hold'em player. Music was Jim’s passion from an early age. He was lead singer for two bands (Altamont and Remedy) beginning while in high school and continuing through his twenties. Many of the songs they played were original and written by one of the band members.

Jim’s friends were very important to him throughout his life. Many of his friendships at the time of his death began in middle school and high school. Jim was a very loving and proud father and never tired of telling people about Jack and Emma.

Jim is survived by his son Jack Lewis (age 19), his daughter Emma Lewis (age 17); parents Jim and Charlene Lewis, Arvada, CO, and Dana and Edward Wood, Aurora, CO; siblings Jill (Bryan) Davis, Winters, TX, Julie (Tom) Williamson, Minot ND, Jason Lewis, WA , Elaine Wood, Brighton, CO; eight nieces and nephews and two great nieces.

Jim was preceded in death by his stepbrother Gary Wood.

Jim was beloved by his family, friends and co-workers for his affection, generosity, kindness, sense of humor and loyalty. He will be missed.
