Jane Conrad

March 21, 1935 — December 12, 2021

Jane A. Conrad of Highlands Ranch, Colorado passed away peacefully on December 12, 2021 following a brief illness. She lived a full and adventurous 86 years of life.

Jane was born March 21, 1935 in Waukon, Iowa to Alyce & Creighton Palmer.

Jane was an avid skier, hiker and world traveler. She played on her high school’s basketball team. She enjoyed running and ran in the San Francisco, Chicago, and Boston Marathons.

Jane graduated from Mercy School of Nursing - Mt. Mercy College, Iowa, in 1956. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1977 from St. Mary’s of the Woods in Terre Haute, Indiana. In 1980 she received her Master’s degree in Psychology from Indiana University of South Bend, Indiana.

Jane was a registered nurse at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana until her retirement. In the latter part of her career she was a patient and family Nurse Counselor in the Cardiac Care Unit.

Jane married Richard Conrad on June 24, 1956, in Belle Plaine, Iowa. Together they lived in Iowa and South Bend, Indiana, and in 1992 moved to Evergreen, Colorado, upon their retirement.

After Richard passed away in 2006, Jane spent many weekends watching her grandsons play soccer and granddaughter at horse shows and cross country meets. She loved time spent with her family and traveling with friends.

Jane is survived by daughter Debra Conrad (Mark) Kendle, son Jeff (Lindy) Conrad, grandchildren Kyle (Tyler) Conrad, Lauren Kendle, Kevin Conrad, Alex Kendle and great-granddaughter Ryan Conrad. She will forever be remembered as “Gram Gram” to her family.

Jane is also survived by Martin Diesenhof, whom she married on December 18, 2010. Jane and Marty enjoyed many activities together, including biking and world travel.

A memorial service will be held to honor Jane at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver on December 23, 2021 where she will be laid to rest adjacent to Richard.

In lieu of flowers, Jane requested donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
