Jane was born at Mercy Hospital in Denver, Colorado on Feb 25, 1925 to Ellen Mae Munson Seely McCarl and Donald Irwin McCarl. She graduated from South High School in 1943. Jane was working at First National Bank in downtown Denver when she met James B. Love during World War II. Jim was stationed at Buckley Field Air Force Base and Jane's family provided Easter dinner for a couple of the soldiers from the base. When Jim and his soldier friend walked up to the house, Jane told her sister Barbara, ""I'll take the red-head. You can have the other soldier."" Love at first sight. Jane and Jim were married on April 22, 1946. They had four children: James Michael Love, David John Love, Kathleen Ann Love Wells and Brian Robert Love. They have 8 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. The Loves lived the majority of their married life in the Denver area. While growing up, Jane spent most of her summers in the area around Eldora, Colorado, where her great-uncle, grandparents, and parents owned property. Her love of the mountains precipitated Jane and Jim to buy a cabin near Blackhawk, Colorado where they enjoyed many vacations. Jane dedicated her life as a homemaker and volunteered thousands of hours over the span of 25 years at Swedish Medical Center as a ""Pink Lady."" She loved working in the surgical area. Over the years, Jane's hobbies have been sewing treasures and knitting for her family, making many, many, and many ceramics. She also loved gardening and pets. Jane always enjoyed spending time with her family. Jim remembers her love of gardening and how she taught him the proper way to plant and care for trees, bushes, flowers and how to manicure a lawn. David remembers the time he spent with her cooking dinner for the family. She knew how to prepare a good meal using whatever was in the pantry. Kathy remembers her mom playing the piano, and that was an inspiration for her to pursue that interest too. Brian remembers how his mother helped him with spelling by making a game of the weekly spelling words as part of breakfast, and he always did well with spelling. After retirement, Jane and Jim loved to travel and visited many areas in the United States. Branson, Missouri was one of their favorite destinations. They were married for 66 years and 7 months.
