Janet Ann Dieckmann, 71, passed away on Sunday, April 5th, 2020 after a near 7 year heroic battle with breast cancer.
She was born on September 14, 1948 in Englewood, CO to Richard and Nancy Devers and was the middle of three children. Janet met her husband, Richard Dieckmann, at a Halloween party in October of 1967. On April 20, 1968, they wed and began an enriched life full of happiness, love, adventure, and reward that would last an unforgettable 52 years.
Janet enjoyed traveling and frequent date nights with Richard, and she treasured spending time with her three adult children and their spouses, along with her seven grandchildren and extended family. Even up to the date of her passing, Janet was active each week playing golf, pickleball, bridge, and other card games with her friends. She was always the brightest light at any gathering, and her positive energy was infectious. Even though Janet had battled her cancer for nearly seven years, many of those around her never knew. She always stayed strong in the Lord and her Christian faith as well as for everyone in the family. The joy she spread to all who knew her will forever be her legacy She was loved by many.
Janet is survived by her beloved husband and best friend of 52 years, Richard Dieckmann, her brother Richard Devers of Portsmouth, VA, sister Janelle Simpson of Ft. Collins, CO, sons Austin Dieckmann of Littleton, CO, Yale Dieckmann of Chicago, IL, her daughter Tia Elliott, of Scottsdale, AZ as well as her seven grandchildren. Janet will be long remembered as "the best Nana" to these wonderful grandchildren that she so dearly loved.
Janet's ashes will be laid to rest at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in the presence of God and her immediate family. We look forward to enjoying a ‘Celebration of Life’ memorial' with all of her friends and family at a later date following the reopening of our economy.
