Janet Beth Reid

Janet Beth Reid, age 64, died at her home in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, on September 5, 2024 after an intense fight with cancer. She was born January 14, 1960, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a graduate from Basic High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. 

Janet played trumpet and guitar, wrote music and sang, and she performed in various bars in Las Vegas while working day jobs and dreaming of a career as a musician. She became an operating engineer at Valley Hospital, where she met her wife, Kathy Boerth. They married on September 28, 1997.

In addition to her wife, Janet is survived by children John and Lisa, grandchildren Madi and Riley, and siblings James Reid (Mary Skrenes), Joe Reid (Merri McKee), Judith Reid (Jude Brietweiser), Jean Reid Norman (Jim) and Janelle Reid Dodge (Brad), as well as nieces and nephews who looked up to her. She was preceded in death by her parents and son Jason. 

Janet did not want a formal service after her passing however she did want family and friends to celebrate her life by laughing and telling their favorite “Janet” stories.
