Janet Sangster, passed away on November 22, 2019, at the age of 89 years.
A native of Winterset, Iowa, Janet graduated from Winterset High School in 1948 and attended the University of Iowa, where she graduated with a degree in Home Economics.
In 1954, she married Tommy Roe Sangster. After living in California and Denver they settled in Golden, Colorado to raise a family.
Janet was busy with her family and involved as a volunteer of numerous organizations over the years. She was involved with testing hearing of infants at Lutheran Hospital. Her Delta Gamma alumni chapter philanthropy was with the Anchor Center for Blind Children and she did many activities to raise money for the school. She also volunteered at La Cache, a consignment store for Children's Hospital, for over 25 years. She was active in PTA and in her children's school activities.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Tommy Roe Sangster, sons John Scott, (Kathy) and Tommy Roe Sangster, Jr. (Mary), daughter Karen Ellen, and 2 grandchildren, Haley and Reid Sangster.
A Celebration of Janet's life will be held at 10:30 am, on Monday December 9 at Applewood Valley United Methodist Church, 2035 Ellis Street, Golden, Colorado 80401, with Reverend Michele Kaminsky officiating. Interment will be at 2:30 pm at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 W. Kenyon Ave., Denver, Colorado, 80236
