Janet Virginia Bocksberger was born on September 20, 1934 to Gerald Augustine and Virginia Elizabeth Bocksberger in Rochester New York. She grew up on Grand Island, picking wild berries and playing with her pet collie Emery. At age twelve, her parents and little brother Danny moved to Chino California. There she graduated from Chino High School, with the class of '53. Dreams of being a mom, she had 3 beautiful children, Lee, Mike and Ginni. In 1969 she moved the family to Colorado. There she met the love of her life, and quite the looker her friends would say. Janet & Don Walker were married November 8, 1975. The two lived a full life together: RV trips, camping, raising doggies & kitties, making memories with their wonderful friends and watching their grandchildren grow up together. Janet was the proud grandmother of 5. Nicole, Ciara, Justin, Troy and Carrie. Her bond with her graduating class did not end in 1953. She thrived off the yearly reunions, giving her all to attend every year. 60 years after graduation, & still the best of friends. Janet became passionate about the things she loved: family, nature, baking, red hats, humming birds, angels and quilts to name some. To be one loved and touched by Janet; one with whom she shared her passions & joys; one inspired by her love & smile; one who's tasted her fresh baked pie, or wrapped oneself in her hand sewn quilt; to have known Janet, is to have lived a life greatly blessed. Janet passed away the morning of August 15, 2013 at the age of 78. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 23, 2013, 10:30 AM, at Black Forest Lutheran Church, 12455 Black Forest Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80908. Committal and Reception to follow.
