Janice Lee Chase

Janice Lee Chase, age 58, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at home in Highlands Ranch, CO. She was born July 22, 1960 at the Presidio Army Base (a fact she was always proud of) in San Francisco, CA. The eldest child of Gordon and Sharon (Greisch) Grout. She married Walter Chase on June 8, 1991 in Santa Cruz, CA. Jan was a warm, kind-hearted person who was a magnet for strangers striking up conversations. Jan loved photographing the natural beauty of Colorado, was an outstanding cook and baker, and took pride in tending to her beautiful garden. Jan's entrepreneurial spirit led her to start her own successful balloon business, Balloon Sensations, in 2007. Her creativity, attention to detail, and genuine appreciation for her customers shone through in each of her many jobs, from family celebrations to high-profile work with Corporate clients, CU Boulder, and local schools and libraries. Her love of the ocean, travel, and her beloved family pets is matched by those who were fortunate enough to call her a dear friend. Jan's generosity, thoughtfulness, and genuine love for life and her family will always be remembered.

She is survived by her husband, Wally, and her three children, Stacey, Gregory, and Samantha, as well as her siblings, Wade Grout and Tracie Pavoni. Those who wish to celebrate Jan's life are invited to the Horan and McConaty Funeral Home, 5303 E County Line Rd, Centennial, CO, starting at 1PM on Thursday, July 25, 2019 to reminisce, grieve, and support one another.
