Janice “Jan” Elizabeth Flint “Lorbeer” passed away on December 23, 2020, surrounded by love from her husband and daughters.
Jan was born in Riverside, California to Thomas and Elizabeth Lorbeer. She moved to Colorado and graduated from Colorado Women’s College in 1969 with a teaching degree. Jan had a passion for teaching and a desire to encourage all of her students to be the best they could be. She continued that passion after retirement through volunteering at Elementary schools’ literacy programs and Denver Children's hospitals. Jan loved learning. She picked up the game of golf after retirement, became a weaver, an artist of stained glass and water color paintings, as well as played the Indian flute and had just started learning to play the guitar. She loved spending time with her husband, Jake. They went on many adventures together whether it was moving to Arizona or moving back to Colorado. She always considered Colorado “home.”
She was a member of PEO Chapters CN and EO, The Denver Sports and Social Connections, and The First Universalist Church of Denver.
Jan will be greatly missed by her surviving husband Jake Flint, daughter Alisha Parkhurst (Kent), grandchildren Lauryn and Ashley and daughter Christy Stewart, siblings Lorraine King (David) and Tom Lorbeer (Christine). Her brother Jim Lorbeer preceded her in death.
No services are planned at this time. An announcement will be made in the spring regarding a celebration of her life. Her family requests in lieu of flowers please make a donation in Jan’s name to The American Cancer Society. https://donate3.cancer.org
