Janice "Jan" A. Silva

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Janice "Jan" Antoinette Silva, who left us on July 21, 2024 at the age of 59. Born on June 25, 1965, Jan brought joy and warmth to everyone she encountered.  

Jan was a proud graduate of Mary Crest High School and went on to earn a degree in Computer Science from MSU. Her dedication and intelligence led her to a fulfilling career with King Soopers, where she started working in high school. Over 38 years, she rose through the ranks and moved into management in 2006, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues. At King Soopers, Jan served on the Cultural Council, where her leadership and exceptional communication skills shone brightly.  

On August 9, 2008, Jan married the love of her life, Russell Silva. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love and shared passions.   

Jan had a deep love for photography, crafts, scrapbooking, and sewing, often creating beautiful pieces that reflected her creativity and attention to detail. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her family, her beloved husband, friends, and their cherished dogs.  

Jan was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Duran Sr. and her mother, Carol (Porter) Duran . She is survived by her loving stepmother, Sharon Duran, her oldest brother, Al (Mea) Duran Jr., and her younger brother, Aaron (Judy) Duran. She was also an aunt to 4 nieces and 2 nephews, as well as a great-aunt.  

Jan had a close relationship with her nephews and nieces — AJ, Angie, Anthony, Lauren, Lexie, and Molly — whom she supported and loved deeply throughout their lives.  

Jan's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.  

A Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at 5:00PM at St. Jude Catholic Church, 9405 West Florida Avenue, Lakewood. 

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 11:00AM at St. Jude Catholic Church followed by a luncheon. Committal Service will follow at 2:00PM at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver.
