Janis Wivchar

Janis Elise Wivchar, 90, of Englewood, Colorado, passed away on November 13, 2021.  She was born March 2, 1931, in Boise, Idaho, the only daughter of Alfred and Ethel (née Chrisman) Jacomini.

Janis graduated from Pasadena Junior College in 1947 and later attended UCLA for two years. She entered the working world in 1952. Janis enjoyed her position as the secretary to the President’s staff assistant until her marriage to Donald Wivchar in 1958. Married life had her traveling the world for both Donald’s work in the oil and gas industry and vacation. After many moves, in 1972, they settled in Colorado. She spent her free time volunteering for the Red Cross and Santa Claus Shop.

Janis is survived by her husband of 63 years, Donald Wivchar; her daughter, Laura Rubin, of Parker, Colorado; and son, Robert Wivchar of Denver, Colorado. She has two grandchildren by her daughter, Melissa and Kiley, and two great-grandchildren, Eliana and Maya.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday, November 24, at St Mary's Catholic Church at 6853 South Prince Street in Littleton, Colorado. A graveside service will follow at 12:00pm at Littleton Cemetery.
