Jason Adam Blout, a Christian, was 25 years old when he passed away at University Hospital in Denver, Colorado on September 12, 2008 after a year long battle with melanoma cancer. He was born at home in Woodland Park, Colorado on May 1, 1983 to Elizabeth and Marcus Blout. Throughout his life, Jason demonstrated a passion for academic achievement, graduating Valedictorian from Thornton High School in Thornton, Colorado, May 2001 in an advanced placement curriculum of International Baccalaureate. He was an outstanding athlete, lettering in baseball. As captain of the baseball team, he was named most valuable player. Jason attended Hope College in Holland, Michigan and received a double major Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Spanish in just three years. He was gifted with a voice and a love of music that he shared by frequently singing stanzas from Bobby McFerrin to Italian arias. All that knew Jason would become immediately aware of his compassionate interest and concern for everyone he met and for all of mankind. Jason is survived by his parents, Marcus and Betsy Blout, siblings Kate and Scott Blout, grandparents, Betty Mowen, Harry and Patricia Ann Blout, aunts and uncles, Janet Mowen, Curt and Kathy Colligan, Joe and Shannon Mowen, Daniel Blout, and cousins Randy Mowen, Matthew and Emma Colligan, and Chase Alexander Mowen. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Joe Mowen.
