Writing a final farewell is something no parent should ever have to do for their child. My son, Jason Robert Boyles, joined his dad, Dwight, three of his grandparents, and his dogs, Dawkins and Loki, on April 7, 2021. From the moment I laid eyes on our beautiful baby boy that frigid morning, February 17, 1978, I knew a special person graced the world. Forty-three years was not enough time to fully appreciate all he was and had to offer.
All anyone needs to know about a person is how babies, small children, and animals saw them. Jason was one of those fortunate individuals. Babies and toddlers would reach for him without a second thought. And they’d be content to stay there, looking high above everyone’s heads and laughing at the silly faces Jason would make to entertain them. Animals would sidle up for a scratch or some of his body heat that was always running hot.
Jason was a kind and gentle soul with a deep sense of loyalty to family and friends. Gifted with a keen intellect, Jason had quite a sense of humor. He loved reading and was constantly questioning the meaning of life and the universe. Math was easy for for him. An electrician by trade, he relished the problem-solving challenges that line of work afforded him. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, as well as snowboarding in the winter.
In addition to all his friends, aunts, uncles, and cousins who were an important part of his life, Jason leaves behind his mom and step-dad, Pam and Keith; his brother, Brett; his sister, Jeannette; and his grandmother, Ann Boyles. We will celebrate his life May 22, 2021, 2-4 p.m. at his home.
Jason means healer and, as it turns out, he was aptly named. He showed a natural proclivity for Tibetan Cranial Therapy work and had recently passed from apprentice to practitioner of this ancient healing art. As a way of honoring him, we have established the Tibetan Cranial Jason Boyles Memorial Scholarship for new apprentices.
