Jay Kittleson

March 24, 1953 — May 30, 2013

Jay Kittleson was born on March 24, 1953. After graduating from Machebeuf High School, he immediately started studying for the Denver Fire Department test. He was accepted onto the department in 1974. He served the Denver Fire Department for 34 years, retiring in 2008 as an Engineer. He served most of his career at Fire Station 9. Jay is survived by his wife, Becky Rold, and four siblings: Ginny (Dennis) Floyd of Wheatridge, Blair (Cecily) Kittleson, Jr. of Denver, Ted (Glenne Stoll) Kittleson of Denver, and Kris (Tom) Laubis of Conifer. He was preceded in death by his father, Blair Kittleson, Sr. and his mother, Virginia Fox Kittleson. In his spare time, Jay enjoyed woodworking, carving, cooking, traveling, whitewater rafting and camping. Memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, www.lls.org, or to Upon the Rock Christian Youth Camp, P.O. Box 1007, La Veta, CO 81055. A celebration of Jay's Life Well Lived will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at El Jebel Event Center, 4625 W. 50th Avenue, Denver.
