Jay Kevin "Odie" Otey, age 52, passed away in Denver, Colorado on January 4, 2022. Jay was born on November 29, 1969 in Denver, Colorado.
Jay is survived by his son, Dillon Otey; his daughter, Eddica (Steven) Sanchez; his grandchildren, Julian and Cecilia Sanchez and his brother, Scott Otey.
Jay was a dedicated police officer for the Denver Police Department-District 1. During his law enforcement career, he received the Distinguished Service Cross and the Medal of Valor for his bravery and heroic actions. Jay loved to take road trips-especially in his sprinter van that he worked on with his son, Dillon. He was fascinated with United States history and had a great coin collection. He also found enjoyment in watch classic movies.
