Jean W. Meiklejohn, 88 years of age, recently passed away in Colorado. She was born and raised in South Carolina. She was married to Charles M. Meiklejohn, Sr. Their children were born and raised in Littleton, Colorado. She is survived by her four children - Charles Meiklejohn, Jr., Vicki Kaufman, Mark Meiklejohn, Mary Smith, her son-in-law, Robert Kaufman, and two daughters-in-law, Sharon Meiklejohn and Senja Meiklejohn. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Jean W. Meiklejohn was a member of the Episcopal Church and had belonged to St. Mark's, St. Peter's, and St. James parishes in Colorado. She was a 'Daughter of the American Revolution' after being confirmed as the great, great granddaughter of the 'man who carried the purse' for General George Washington during the American Revolution. She graduated from Limestone College in South Carolina. Her professional career began as a Court Reporter in South Carolina; followed by positions as a legal secretary; an Administrative Secretary for the Martin Marietta Corporation, Colorado Department of Local Affairs, and the Colorado Department of Highways.
