Jeanette H. "Jan" Coursey was born on September 24, 1934, to Joseph William and Rose Otto in Winsted Minnesota. She was a beloved wife of 49 years to husband James (Jim) Coursey Jr. and a loving mother. She is survived by her two dearly loved children; daughter, Karen Newcomb and husband Gary, and son, Kevin Coursey; and siblings; Clayton Otto, David Otto and Linda Kowalsky.
She graduated from nurses training in 1957 and practiced nursing over the next 7 years. She traveled with classmates working in various locations including Honolulu Hawaii, finally making her way to Colorado to work and ski.
This is where a mutual friend introduced her to Jim and they were then married in 1963. They had two children who they adored. They were parishioners of St. Bernadette Catholic Church where Karen and Kevin attended grammar school and Jan volunteered, and later St. Jude Catholic Church where they were actively involved in Prime Timers. They took square dancing lessons and loved collecting antiques and going to antique shows.
She was a loving wife and mother always making birthdays and holidays extra special, building a life of love and faith, all the while creating many great memories to last a lifetime. Her most favorite thing was spending time with family and loved ones. She took pride in quilting, to which she made numerous beautiful quilts for herself and her family.
She passed from this life on December 6, 2023, at the age of 89, with her children at her side.
She was loved and will be dearly missed by family and friends. She made a lasting impression on all who knew her.
