Jeanette Elaine Welch Taylor Darr passed away early on the morning of Sunday, March 20, 2022. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bessie LeBoeuf Bobb and father, Julius Emmit Welch as well as her husband Glenn Douglas Taylor, son Glenn Ross Taylor, husband Oscar V. Darr and grandson, Douglas Earl Taylor. She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Taylor Hargrove (David) of Denver, Colorado, five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren as well as her sister Grace Wolf (Trophy Club, Texas), Myrtle Kern (Denton, Texas) and brother James Welch (Anne) of Lampasas, Texas. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Chiquita.

Jeanette Elaine Welch was born December 23, 1930 in Slaughter, Louisiana. The Welch family moved from Louisiana to Fabens, Texas in 1939 and later to Ysleta, Texas where Jeanette graduated from Ysleta High School. She also attended 3 years at the University of Texas at El Paso.

Jeanette married Glenn Douglas Taylor on June 5, 1948 and had two children, Glenn Ross Taylor and Bonnie Jean Taylor. She was a champion supporter of all things El Paso and gave many newcomers and family friends tours of the city she loved. Everything was better, brighter and bigger in El Paso. She loved the weather and daily sunshine. She had a positive attitude and a beautiful singing voice and loved singing in the St. Paul's United Methodist Church Choir. She always had music playing and supported the Reader's Digest record album/CD department by purchasing almost everything they produced. She loved playing the piano.

Jeanette was a den mother, Brownie and Girl Scout Leader (13) years for Troop 6, Rainbow Girl Mother Advisor and Grand Officer as well as a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star and El Paso Women's Shriners group. She was an avid gardener and loved her yard and trees, flowers, grass and her beautiful pecan tree. She loved all stray cats and loved giving treats to all the dogs as she walked around the block.

Jean loved her Bridge and church friends and was friendly to all of her neighbors and pretty much everyone she met. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church for 60 years.

She will be buried with Glenn Douglas Taylor at Ft. Bliss Cemetery as Jeanette W. Taylor in El Paso, Texas. El Paso. Burial will take place on Monday, October 10th at 9:30AM with Glenn Douglas Taylor at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00AM at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 7000 Edgemere Blvd., El Paso, Texas 79925. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Paul's United Methodist Church food pantry in her name would be appreciated (7000 Edgemere Blvd, El Paso, TX 79925 915-772-2734).
