Jeanette Marie Thorsen

Jeanette Marie Thorsen, at the young age of 67, met her maker on Friday, August 21, 2015 at Swedish Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was born on November 10, 1947 in Racine, Wisconsin to her proud parents Robert and Evelyn Braun. Jeanette attended the University of Wisconsin, where she met her future husband, Bruce Norbert Thorsen, at a sock hop during the first week of school. Jeanette and Bruce married on August 3, 1968, in Racine, Wisconsin. They went on to have three healthy children, Jodi Marie, Jeffrey Norbert, and Julie Rochelle. In 1978, Jeanette and Bruce left the Midwest with their three small children in tow to start their new life in Colorado. Throughout their years in Colorado, Jeanette and Bruce were active members of Bethany Lutheran Church, where forever friendships were born. Jeanette's many passions in life included spending time with her family, especially her devoted husband Bruce; traveling, playing bridge with her many loving friends; cooking; gardening; golfing; interior design; and of course shopping. Jeanette was proceeded in death by her parents, Robert and Evelyn Braun, and her first daughter Lisa Marie. She is survived by: her beloved husband Bruce; her two brothers, Dennis and Ron; her daughter, Jodi (Ryan) Hunter of Lakewood, Colorado; her son, Jeff (T'sara) Thorsen of Castle Rock, Colorado; and her daughter, Julie (Mark) Flippen of Denver, Colorado. The grandchildren she adored more than life itself are Lucas, Kelley, Tyler, Lucille, and Layla. Jeanette will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, infectious laugh, goofy sense of humor, warm heart and generosity, and her devotion to her family and faith. A Celebration of Life will be held in Jeanette's honor on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at 12:30 pm at Bethany Lutheran Church, located at 4500 Hampden Ave, Denver, CO 80113. Condolences may be offered to the family in the hour prior to the service. A reception for family and friends will follow at 2:00 pm at Lakewood Country Club, located at 6800 W. 10th Ave, Lakewood, CO 80214.
