Jeanne M. Riley

Jeanne was born on August 23, 1922 in Corsicana, Texas to Annye and Robert D. McCluer. She graduated from Alamo Heights High School in San Antonio and Texas Women's University. She lived in Dallas for many years and worked in public relations and marketing, retiring as a vice-president of Fidelity Union Life Insurance, before moving to Austin in 1981 when she married Jack Dabbs. Jeanne volunteered at Seton Hospital and The Cove for many years and was active in the Tarrytown United Methodist Church. In 2005, she moved to Colorado to be near her daughter and died August 19, 2009. Jeanne is survived by her daughter, Betsy (Don) Cabell; step-daughter, Danielle (Steve) Monson; grandchildren, Ryan (Brenda) Cabell, Andy Cabell, Irulian Dabbs, and Mranth Dabbs; sister-in-law, Carol McCluer; and numerous relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Dabbs; brother, Robert H. McCluer; and sister, Janet McCluer. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, August 27, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Hope United Methodist Church, 5101 South Dayton Street, Greenwood Village, Colorado. Memorial donations in Jeanne's name are suggested to the American Heart Association, 1280 South Parker Road, Denver, Colorado 80231.
