Jeffrey A. Fortier

""Jeff"" 59, passed away suddenly of natural causes on November 25, 2010. Proud father, grandfather and friend to many, he is survived by his children Karen (Samuel Breadon) Fortier, Sandra (Paul) Fortier-Olson, Julie (Mitchell) Andrews and Andrew Fortier; grandsons Logan and Liam Andrews; brother David Fortier; and former wife Marilyn. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents Armand Fortier and Suzanne Drew, wife Diane, and brother Ronald. Born on September 21, 1951 in Berlin, New Hampshire, Jeff was raised in the shadows of the White Mountains. He was a 1973 graduate of Fairfield University in Connecticut. Upon graduation, he worked at Aetna Insurance in Bridgeport, Connecticute, and later in Baltimore, Maryland and St. Louis, Missouri. In 1988 he joined an independent insurance agency that moved him to Denver in 1991. Jeff was later president of the Insurance & Bonding Association of Colorado. Recently Jeff owned and operated a newly formed agency, Cherryvale Insurance. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday, December 9, 2010, at 2:00 p.m., at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 East County Line Road (one block to the west of Holly Street), in Centennial, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are being suggested to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), 8055 East Tufts Avenue, Suite 770, Denver, Colorado 80237.
