Jeff bravely lost his year-long battle with cancer on his 38th birthday at the Denver Hospice Care Center in Aurora, Colorado. He was born on February 18, 1972 in Denver, Colorado to parents Dwight and Cherie Shank. He was raised in Grand Junction, Colorado and graduated from Fruita Monument High School in 1990. He attended CU in Boulder graduating with a degree in marketing in 1994. Jeff was a percussionist with the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps during the spring and summer of his sophomore year in high school, traveling the country from coast to coast performing with the Corps. He loved sports bikes (aka crotch rockets) and spent many hours riding them in the mountains or testing their performance on the tracks.
